Artifact 1
Narrative Writing Assignment
This artifact is an example of a writing assignment that I assigned in my writing skills class. In this assignment students
had to write a narrative piece that described one event in their life. We wrote in regards to the writing process (see Standard
II: Artifact 1: Writing Skills Essential Questions) and worked for almost three weeks on this assignment. This student decided
to write about a funny event that happened in her life and succeeded in a well-told story.
Something Funny
It was a beautiful day when something funny happened. It was a hot day in August. I was in my house with
my family and my boyfriend we were having a nice calm day. I was saying to my boyfriend that it was my sister's birthday and
my grandmother had a surprise to her. When he got up I got up and when he hugged me something funny happened.
The
funny thing that happened was that my boyfriend pants came down and it showed everything. The pants came down because he always
wears big pants. The reaction of everybody was that, they started laughing. Then my mom called everybody, they all started
laughing then my mom said, "close your eyes, because he doesn't have anything on." That was funny but that was not everything.
The funniest thing that happened next was that my dog took my boyfriend's clothes. Everybody wanted to get his clothes
but the dog went to the backyard and ripped them. So, he didn't have nothing to put on so he called his brother and said that
bring some clothes. He was naked so that day the best because, I laughing too much. This is the funniest thing that happened
to me with my boyfriend and my family.
Artifact 2 Observation Reflection
This artifact is a reflection I wrote in response to an observation by my university supervisor. In this lesson I used technology
to reach the students with the use of an LCD projector, music, and powerpoint presentations. I also used various methods,
strategies, and activities. This lesson was intended to review for an upcoming formative assessment (quiz).
